As a family, we have been interested in exploring natural home remedies for different things.

Here are a few of our favourite ingredients.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a popular home remedy. It’s something that was even around when my mum was younger (in the 60s) as weight-loss medicine. But what we all want to know is: does it really work? I can’t comment on weight loss, however, myself, my daughter and son have been drinking it daily for the last two weeks and have already seen huge benefits of improved digestion, lower blood sugar and clearer/minimised pores (you won’t need your favourite Benefit porefessional primer anymore). Apple Cider Vinegar is said to help kill harmful bacteria which might explain the increased healing of acne within both of my children.

For many years Nutmeg has been known to soothe digestion, boost the health of your skin and detox your bloodstream. Myself and my two children have been taking nutmeg daily for a month now - we simply put the end of a teaspoon amount mixed with tap water and drink. Both children suffer from acne and this has reduced massively! Even my own skin is looking healthier, glowing and smooth.

Rosemary is so good for so many things. It tastes good in cooking and can also be used as a medicine to ease muscle pain, help indigestion and to boost the immune and circulatory system. You can also drink it as a tea. Spiritually, Rosemary is used for cleansing and protection. It’s also a symbol of love, happiness and loyalty. It also smells divine and looks so beautiful! We are so lucky to have all these wonderful plants on our doorsteps! We should enjoy them more.

Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory - short term this can help reduce pain & inflammation. It can be good for reducing headaches & PMS symptoms! Why not try to either incorporate it into your cooking, or you could even drink it mixed with milk (not too much). Or alternatively, just use it as a treatment - but please be aware Turmeric stains!
