Selenite is the crystal form of gypsum, which is a soft sulfate mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate, with the chemical formula CaSO4·2H2O. White in colour, Selenite is non-toxic, but it will dissolve in water.
We are so lucky to have been able to source selenite bowls, selenite charging plates and selenite windchimes from a company who mine selenite in both open mines and from deeper places in mountains in Lithuania.
Sidati and the team behind @naturellaart have formed a small school for selenite and stone crafting where they teach the secrets of selenite crafting. Their primary goal is to work and to make humanity look as bright and pure as the crystal itself.
When they first started they knew they wanted to help women as in this area women tend to work in greenhouses to keep their families in Morocco - which isn't an ideal job in hot weather conditions. They are now proud to hire women who have a dream of crafting selenite! Not only have they done a lot for women, but their company also provides scholarships for children.
We would love it if you could go and check out @naturellaart on Instagram. They are doing a lot of good which is why we wanted to show them off as our wholesaler!
